The purpose of having a banner within the perimeters of a church can be as simple as displaying bible verses. When congregants are inside a house of worship, their eyes will keep roving around a building. When someone's eye lands on the banner, there is a high possibility that his mind will capture words of encouragement that have been drawn from scripture. This will most likely stay in someone's mind for some time and as a result, the poster will have accomplished what it was made for.

In most houses of worship, upcoming events are also announced on a banner. The functions for which this kind of item can be applied to are quite a number. At times, it can serve as a news bulletin. It is also the best place to display a greeting that welcomes congregants to the service.

These kinds of pieces need the right balance of aesthetics. This is achieved with a good dose of colors and of course having the appropriate layout. The choice of colors matters a lot because in the Christian Faith, each hue stands for something. Combining white and black is desired because of the need to emphasize the twin aspects of purity and eternity. Wherever there is red, what immediately comes to mind is the vitality of life and the power of love.

A poster will either be vertically or horizontally oriented. There will be a stand that supports it. The desired measurements for width and length have to be selected before production work is done. Finally, there is the issue of material to be used. Vinly is the best material because of its robustness and versatility.

Most churches have banners, at different places of the house of worship. These communicate important bible verses and convey announcements. They also serve an aesthetic purpose and at times they are used to convey greetings.
