With the typing skills, you can earn it by mere practice.

Basically, the work is all about transcribing the conversations in court during proceedings. It is a word for word transcription which should be done perfectly. But they are not only limited to the court, they can also serve as transcriptionists during important meetings which need a written transcript. They can as well serve a community of deaf mutes.

Basically, they undergo training for about two to three years depending on the current level of their capability. They are also required to get a license. Training is actually offered by many post secondary vocational and technical schools. Others just learn their skills through their type of work.

Voice writers or what you call transcriptionists are actually illegible for this kind of job provided they learn stenography. Transcriptionists are those who listen to a voice record and then makes a written form of them. With this, you are already like a practicing scourt transcriptionist and with a few training in stenography, you can advance to it already.
