Obtaining government records is perhaps one of the most difficult and time-consuming activities for anyone. However, with the internet today, it is now easier to access public records and have it delivered to one's doorstep. As all states have adopted this procedure, obtaining a Florida Divorce Record, for example, is stress-free as you can make requests online. Traditional ways of calling and mailing the assigned agency is still applicable; however, to save time, it is only reasonable to make your queries online.

Getting divorce records is the same as requesting for one's marriage record. One can get it by checking out Florida's Bureau of Vital Statistics website. The website contains information pertaining to divorce proceedings and granted starting from June 1927. If one is looking for records before the date indicated, the Bureau has no record but you can request for it from the Court Clerk of the county where the divorce was granted. One may also send in their request to the Office of the Vital Statistics if one is not aware of the actual time or date.

For each record requested, the cost is about $5. If one makes the request at the same time, they can get a discount of $1 so they only have to pay $4 for each succeeding records. The date should be specific or exact. If one is not sure of the exact year, they can add $2 for each year that they want the office to search. Once the fees are paid, the office will process the request. Processing would take about three to five business days. If one is in a hurry, they can pay $10 for "rush services" which would take about 3 days or "express delivery" which is 24 hours. For those who choose the 24-hour delivery, they are required to send a self-addressed stamped envelope together with their request. The Office sets no restrictions as to the number of records one can request.

The divorce form is available in three different languages, which one can easily download from the website. One can choose the default divorce and Annulment form, which is in English, or download the Spanish or Creole version of the form. All blank fields must be answered to prevent delay in the processing of the request.

Remember to include the maiden name of the wife, the date divorce was granted, as well as other pertinent details of the husband. The Bureau indexes the records under the husband's name so one should never forget to fill the husband's information side. One should also include one's information such as contact number and the complete mailing address.

Many people have complained about how inflexible the Florida law system is, especially when it comes to divorce cases. However, once the annulment or divorce is finally granted, the Florida State is one of the fastest places to get one's divorce record. All the pertinent details of how to obtain one's divorce report is available in the Bureau's Marriage and Divorce Record website. If one is looking for faster and convenient services, online request is the most stressful way of doing it.
