In order to get a copy of a divorce certificate in Virginia, one has to go to the office of the Vital Statistics office at the Department of health. If the document is not available in the state office, one has to visit the Clerk of Court in the county where the separation was made legal. The state office accepts mail order but one has to make sure that all the requirements are indicated on the mail.
